I m a playboy if I hang out with different chicks , but if a girl does the same thing(hangs out with boys) I call her whore , slut , and many more offensive and derogatory words which can’t be even mentioned here. I m a man because I have the right and power to molest a teenager and abet her to commit suicide. I am a man because I have the courage to throw acid on any girl who refuses to marry me or rejects my proposal. I am a man because I have the audacity of ripping apart the modesty of a girl next door. I have the fundamental right to stalk a girl, embarrass her in the public to gain her attention and be the center of attraction. Finally, I am a man because I was born in India, the land which gives unconditional supremacy to its masculine gender, right from the inception of life. In fact I was allowed to be born because I was a man! India is not short of such men of substance.
Who is a woman???
A human who is more mature than man , half rhythmic, half frenzied, sensitive, caring, understanding, leads a humdrum life ,cute ambitions(of getting settled with a millionaire or a billionaire :P) and many more…..but then why they are at risk, most vulnerable ???
Rape, molestation, dowry deaths – can you imagine any single day when you had picked up a newspaper and hadn’t come across this ugly jargon??? What do we mean when we say Goa has become dangerous for woman??? The truth is it was never safe .Why the medical termination of pregnancy @MTP rate (abortion) in India, so high??
Apathy to the birth of a baby girl in India is well known. Even I remember the irony in my brother’s home when the second very cute girl was born (after the first girl), my niece, I heard my bua (paternal aunt) saying” bechari key larkhi hui hain”@the poor lady has given birth to a baby girl, so what, what makes a difference??? I think we are the only nation on the face of the earth where a mother becomes woeful on giving birth to a baby girl.
Why are women ill-treated and why is there innocence being buried under deep stacks of cash notes?
Researchers have dictated that about 9, 5000 women in India are stabbed to death over the dowry issue. The statistics are more in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh but sadly the largest IT sector of the country Bangalore has also recorded an alarming rise. I was taken aback when saw Bangalore on the top which is known for people with posh living and broad mentality. . Despite of all these protest why India is still holding the stigma of dowry?
We have so many live examples. Women are trying hard to save their lives with the support of legal amendments, media support, serious activism, and heightened awareness .Why not women can be completely relieved from this pain and burden? Every 18 seconds a woman is ill-treated in the world, according to information of "United Nations". And at least one of every five is a victim of ill-treatment in her own house, according to information of “World Health Organization”.
The practice continues unabated on a very large scale. It’s high time for us all to wake up and give a serious call to these alarming issues in India.
It was my frustration which asked me to shove out my thoughts and I tried my best but still baffled. It took 20 years for me to realize how unparalleled and important a woman is in my life (most of the guy’s life) as a mother, sister, best friend, girl friend, maternal & paternal aunt etc. Well am sorry if anyone is offended. Please leave the comments and be frank!!!
Thanks.
